I’ve made no secret about who a support during this year’s Presidential Election. Senator Barack Obama. I will not go into my whys today, that’s not the reason for the post. As Senators Obama, Biden, and McCain all head back to Washington today to throw their support towards the Senate’s alternate Bailout plan and Palin remains under that tree in Arizona practicing for her debate tomorrow night. What are your issues in this campaign? What do you want to see addressed? At this time have the candidates made an effort to address those issues which are important to you? What would you like to see addressed more? What does your candidate need to do to win?

I want someone (preferably Obama) to present a clear and logical strategy for removing the majority of troops in Iraq….and a promise that we will not have “Iraqi Freedom Part Duh” over in Afghanistan.
I want to know how the government can help me pay for my son’s college education…maybe a new type of plan, or at least some assurance that tuition lending won’t be impossible to get. Of course this centers around this current economic crisis, so that means I ‘d also like to see a plan of action for the immediate and even not-so-immediate future that will prevent this from happening again and protect us in the process. As I’ve said, I’m all about a little regulation.
Taxes don’t really concern me, to be honest. Raise them on me if it’ll truly benefit our society. I’d rather pay more now for progess than pay less for nonsense.
The environment — another biggie for me. We have GOT, I mean HAVE TO…..protect this planet and as many species as we can (except the stinkbug…those can all die). There are brilliant eco-scientists out there that should be given much more in the form of grants for research and execution of Earth-conscious programs.
There’s more but these are my top 3 concerns.
October 1, 2008 at 10:10 am
top concerns..yet to be addressed…..
1. funding for education public schools and higher learning….
2. funding for community base programs….so called welfare.(by now we know minorities are not the biggest welfare recipients) will some of the programs…that were destroyed because of Bush’s War…be reinvested into.
3. when exactly will the war be over…..and believe or not I believe more troops are needed in Afghan have you seen the news lately…even the army guy Petreaus are whatever his name is is over in london telling gov….Afghan is slipping out of control and fast….so yeah…surge…purge whatever but let it be over….if we cannot win either one of them get our men and women the hell outta there…
4. if i am paying more taxes i want to know where the hell they are going what you doing with them…etc….i don’t want my hard earn money going to already rich motherfers….if you are using my tax dollar put it into..building better schools…paying teachers more…and social programs that all of us can benefit from.
5. regulating mortgage lenders…banks and wallstreet who will take on this big task….
6. regulating how much money CEOs make in abc company….250% more than the people really doing the work is not exceptable maybe if i owned a corporation i would feel different..but I don’t so…yeah regulate …..REGULATORS….
7. legislation should be passed making it mandatory for minimum wage to be increased if not every year then every 2 years…
October 1, 2008 at 10:16 am
my theme song for the american taxing system….
“Somebody tell me why I work so hard for you?
October 1, 2008 at 10:20 am
Economy…lately I’ve been losing sleep over this one…horrible way for any administration to begin but it needs a major overhaul and not just a quick fix…so sure vote in the quick fix if it will help but then let’s see a plan for “change” that will truly prevent this from happening again or at least diminish the possibilities….
Education – our educational system is out of control to me – put the money into it -equally shared among states and districts!!! Not money based on grades of children so that administrators are focused on scores/test prep and not the overall education of our children …not sure that it’s working as is as it seems to me each state is creating their own systems – I think it needs to be a bit more uniform & assessed regularly . Somehow they need to create a system that encourages and allows teachers the ability and programs to push the children that are ahead of the pack as well as nurture those that are behind or meeting the grade level requirements…presently, to me, it seems the system tries to keep all children at one level and that’s just not humanly possible …some children will always need bigger challenges and some will always find learning more challenging than others…they all deserve the best education possible as well as resources (computers, libraries, REAL ORGANIZED GYM – yes, that’s important too – it’s about their health & teaching them to work as a team)…
Finally, jobs in the US – more and more I’m seeing this as an important factor and it shows in every area of the US …there would probably be less poverty if people had jobs on all levels within the US – never realized how much of a role this played but not everyone is looking for a white collar job…need more blue collar positions for the average joe to be able to make a good living not just put his name on a list for transit, sanitation or the other good city jobs whose requirements they may meet…let’s face it we want everyone to get a college ed but for many reasons it doesn’t always happen – some people have to work early to survive, others may not be cut out for more school or simply may not want to – does that mean that they don’t deserve a good job if they’re willing to do it?
The environment is an issue to me and personally I’m doing my best to reduce my carbon footprint – actually there are so many issues its very hard to choose a top 3…we seem to be a country with issues…we need some serious therapy!!!

Uh huh huh…
Oh yeah…
Work…work…
Somebody told me,
“boy, everything she wants is everything she sees…”
I guess i must have loved you.
’cause i said you were the perfect girl for me,
Maybe…
But now we’re six months older…
And everything you want and everything you see,
Is out of reach…not good enough…
I don’t know what the hell you want from me but boy…
Uh huh huh…
Oh…oh…
Uh huh huh…
Doo doo doo…
La la la la…
Somebody tell me,
Won’t you tell me…
Why i work so hard for you?
All to give you money
All to give you money…
Some people work for a living,
Some people work for fun,
Girl, i just work for you.
They told me marriage was a give and take,
Well, show me you can take you’ve got some giving to do.
And now you tell me that you’re having my baby,
I’ll tell you that i’m happy if you want me to…
One step further and my back will break,
If my best isn’t good enough
Than how can it be good enough for two?
I can’t work any harder than i do…
Somebody tell me,
Won’t you tell me…
Why i work so hard for you?
All to give you money,
All to give you money…
Oh…
Why do i do the things i do?
I’d tell you if i knew.
My god…
I don’t even think that i love you….
Won’t you tell me…
Tell me…tell me…tell me…
How could you settle for a boy like me,
When all i could see was the end of the week…
All the things we sign,
And the things we buy,
Ain’t gonna keep us together…
It’s just a matter of time.
My situation,
Never changes.
Walking in that manner through that door,
Like a stranger,
But the wages…
I give you all you say you want is love…
And all i can see is the end of the week,
All the things we sign,
And the things we buy,
Ain’t gonna keep us together…
Girl, it’s just a matter of time.
October 1, 2008 at 10:25 am
it fit well with the bailout plans!!!!…..
October 1, 2008 at 10:25 am
Kingston I agree with you 150% on regulating CEO salaries – they are totally out of control….there needs to be some sort of ceiling to those salaries and better ways to prevent fraud by executives in companies…as they do the dirt…walk away without a job but with assets and their staff really loses more because they have less assets and depend on the jobs provided by the companies some of these CEOs ruin with their bad/greedy decisions
Funding is a good one too on all counts but more so the allocation of those funds…I believe the money is there but more goes to certain school districts/residential areas period! and that is not fair at all…Knowledge as to how to get more funds for your community should be more accessible to everyone – let the newspapers write more articles about that rather than telling us what the stars are wearing/doing and all the crime/murders taking place in detail….make it easier for people to get it rather than creating all these loopholes for obtaining funds so that the few more prominent areas obtain it rather than the masses that need it….what sort of “democracy” have we become…
October 1, 2008 at 10:25 am
My biggest concerns are healthcare, education, economy, environment, and the war…
Right now we’ve destroyed so many of our military resources by exhausting our soldiers with this long battle in Iraq, while Afghanistan is boiling out of control. There needs to be a certain level of transparency in the government, where we have a clear understanding of what’s going on before we’re the last to know.
Healthcare…if I were to lose my job today. I could not go out and purchase my own healthcare to cover myself and my children. There has to be some system established to ensure that we’re cared for and that it’s more preventative and proactive instead of reactive. Teaching kids and adults how to eat. How to take care of themselves for maximum life…encouraging exercise and fitness as part of that program…
Education…will I be able to finish school in the next year? With the state of our banks and loans industry…does the possibility still exist…what type of programs can be established to ensure that all kids who are capable and want to attend college can…not just some jack legged lotto funds but true programs that provide for those who want to better themselves…
Environment…looking at our energy crisis now and what our dependency on oil has done to environment…the climate changes…it’s cold one day…and summer time the next…the animals in the arctic don’t have enough food and the climate is changin in that area and they cannot quickly adapt…this is all done at the hands of man…and whether you believe God has a part in it or not and we just need to accept it…no we need to be held responsible about what we’re doing…
Economy…regulation and accountable…what is happening now…it’s not aall the faults of the tax payers…the average workers salaries have not increased to meet the financial needs of Americans…yes we can be smarter with our money but also we have to make sure that we have enough to function in the first place…
October 1, 2008 at 10:29 am
Healthcare is another great one Ki…you’re so right …once you’re out of work …even unemployment does not provide enough to obtain healthcare…forget if your child has a serious illness such as asthma -…for the record it costs approx. $20,000 plus medicine, etc. to keep a child in ICU for a serious asthma attack – thank God we were covered when my daughter went through this..it is no joke…what if someone was not covered? what then? and it’s life or death….very scary
October 1, 2008 at 10:31 am
off topic..
I had nightmares last night….terribly nightmares….
woke up scared as hell…couldn’t sleep and when i did
go back to sleep the nightmare continued….
October 1, 2008 at 10:32 am
what was it about – do you remember? dreams are usually a sign
October 1, 2008 at 10:35 am
“There needs to be a certain level of transparency in the government, where we have a clear understanding of what’s going on before we’re the last to know. ”
Yup. And part of me (a little part) feels like….I don’t know the right word, empowered? justitied? ….because a truth is being brought to light about our government and society as a result of this economic clusterf*ck.
They need to stop acting like we’re in good hands….. saying just relax…let us take care of things….go SHOPPING…..etc. We’re played like ignorant fools with kindergarten mindsets a lot of the time. Give it to us straight…let American citizens find strengh through clarity….
October 1, 2008 at 10:43 am
Also, I want a beach house. Can the government get me a beach house?
Beach homes for everyone!!!
October 1, 2008 at 10:45 am
Empowerment is major for me…that’s one of the many reasons why I support who I support…I don’t feel like a toddler waiting on a cookie at snack time…
October 1, 2008 at 10:45 am
Kingston you’ve been dreaming a lot lately…
October 1, 2008 at 10:48 am
lmao at Beach house…how about a house period lolzzz….
but yeah they’ve sold us on that “relax stimulate the economy by buying something” attitude and now look where that got us…apparently the economy wasn’t stimulated enough!…not to mention regular salaries aren’t increasing as fast as the price of everything around us is…don’t know about in your city but rent in NY has been ridiculous for some time and it seems the more people that move here willing to pay whatever…just drives the rent prices up higher…
October 1, 2008 at 10:50 am
You bring up a good point…how much did all those stimulus checks cost and now we’re in this economic turmoil…whose in charge of this madness…why won’t he put on his helmet and get on the little yellow bus already…
October 1, 2008 at 10:50 am
I had a dream last night that I moved to San Francisco (but I was actually in Northern Virginia….??) and there was an epic flood. I’d moved into a high-rise apartment (that was actually on the second floor but I was still wayyy high up). I looked out the window and all I saw below were floating skeletons. Meanwhile, I was unpacking and decorating. I had to light scented candles to cover up the stench of mold and death. It was weird.

On Yahoo’s home page:
How much is $700 Billion?
The short answer: a lot. The long answer: depends on how you look at it.
Whatever your viewpoint, here’s how $700 billion – the figure inked in the initial dead-in-the-water government bailout bill for Wall Street – compares to other vast sums.
NASA in fiscal year 2009 will launch several missions into space and pay for hundreds of people to operate a host of space telescopes and even remote robots on Mars and run a PR and media department that puts most large corporations to shame. The agency’s budget: $17.6 billion, or 2.5 percent of the bailout sum.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has an annual budget of $6.06 billion to support research and education on astronomy, chemistry, materials science, computing, engineering, earth sciences, nanoscience and physics (among others) at more than 1,900 universities and institutions across the United States.
You have to turn to much bigger initiatives, like war and defense, to get beyond this chump change and approach the bailout figure.
From 2003 through the end of fiscal year 2009, Congress has appropriated $606 billion for military operations and other activities associated with the war in Iraq, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). The entire military budget for fiscal 2008 is $481.4 billion.
Social Security is a $608 billion annual program.
Many analysts fear the bailout because the cost must ultimately be borne by taxpayers.
Based on the U.S. Census Bureau’s estimate of the current population of about 305 million people, each person would have to pay $2,300 to fund the $700,000,000,000. If each American (including children) paid a dollar a day, it would take more than six years to pay the money in full. One might argue, however, that this $700 billion would be a modest splash in the bucket of national debt, which already stands at well over $9 trillion (which means you already owe $31,642 each).
Even the New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez would lose sleep over all those zeroes. Currently the top paid major league baseball player, Rodriguez takes home $28 million a year, meaning it would take 25,000 A-Rod salaries to carry the $700 billion.
Nobody is rich enough to pay back this $700 billion by himself. In fact, the Forbes 400 richest list recently came out. It would take most of what these 400 people collectively have – a combined net worth of $1.57 trillion – to dig out of this mess

1. Education, Education, Education-There needs to be more funding into our education system. I tend the to think if are government were a wee bit more educated, we wouldn’t be in the position we are now. If people were a tad bit more educated, they would have been more aware of the chips falling all around us instead of being “surprised” that we are in the big economic crisis.
2. The Economy-no need to reiterate whats already been stated.
3. Healthcare-today’s economy is making me compromise my health. Needed a MRI, the MRI was going to cost me 1grand because I hadn’t made met my insurance company’s copay before insurance coverage would fully kick in. So, no MRI…most people don’t ask to be sick. Some illness just happen, and why should you be penalized for wanting to live?! Why should paying my mortgage and keeping a roof over my child’s head outweigh saving my life?
4. The war, we need to pull out, too many of her sons and daughters have been lost in a war that Americans still don’t have a clear view of what exactly we are fighting for. I think its time to pull out and maintain intelligence over there so that we can be aware of whats going on.
5. Our environment. I’m diligently trying to educate myself about going green, I want my kids and their kids to have a chance on this beautiful planet. I’m the type that gets excited to see a flower growing, who used to lay out in my backyard at night and stare at the stars. Open my windows in thunderstorms to watch the light show, and still take moments to take a deep breath to enhale life and say a silent prayer to God for allowing me to see another day. This existence is important to me, this world that we live in is the reflection of the life that has been given as a present to us, its time to thank it instead of destroy it.
I have a host of other things…but I won’t bore you with it.
October 1, 2008 at 10:57 am
Bore us…it’s amazing how important education is to all of us…and here I go breaking one of my rules…Palin is on a ticket…basically condemning those who have gotten education and are using that to their ability…it’s basically elitist to go to college now and better yourself…she’s ready to represent everyday Joe sixpack…only in this nation can someone who obtained a Bachelor’s degree from a community college become a major political force and use her lack of education as a bonus…meanwhile back on the farm in everyday America…I can’t move into a management position or even to a more stable company until I get more education…what in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 1, 2008 at 11:03 am
Lmao, that is so true Ki, so damn true.
October 1, 2008 at 11:05 am
…..Ki and JinJin I have been dreaming a lot….I dream like crazy sometimes and half the time I have no understanding of my dreams until they actually happen in the real then I’m like damn…I dreamed that……this one was super scary…
i dreamed that I went to pick up my daughter from i can’t remember if it was family or friends either way there was this handsome darkskin boy maybe 3-4 years older than her and I was joking that he would be her husband….his father was like yes..its already been worked out…but then I sensed that the boy was pure evil…demon like evil…and he wanted to destroy my daughter…..I held her hand to leave and forgot something…i sent the boy for it….just so he woulddn’t see us leave….we started rushing down the steps but he came back saw us leaving got angry and threw the item at us…by now I’m draggin her trying to get away….and all these cats came running towards us(incase no one knows…I HATE CATS….)…the it got dark, cloudy and windy and i a man I knew with his children he had altleast 4….i was running to catch up to them…but couldn’t then they started running…then all of a sudden they stopped by now I’m holding my daughter in my hands…and I stopped trying to catch up….looking at them they gathered together and started backing away from the bushes….ok the place it happenned I don’t recognized….it was bushy….the streets were small and to the side of the street were we were there was nothing but trees and bush…..all of a sudden something came out of the bush with this scary ass sound and I woke up scared as shit.
I’m like what the hell….i went to bed early I didn’t watch any scary shows…so why am i dreaming that demons are out to get my daughter….the second dream was a continuation….except I went back to the house where the evil boy was to burn it down..lol…(i’m laughing cause I will burn some shit down)….or atleast threaten to…and this time I had my 5 year old with me…and had to protect him too….
yall my dreams be dead on…sometimes i hate dreaming cause I spend months trying to figure it out or being over protected of the kids….
when I was in high school i dreamed my boyfried got killed how he got killed right down to where he was when it happened…i told him and I remember he said baby..don’t worry I’m not going no where…1 month and a hald later he diedd…just the way i dreamed it…so you can just imagine how scared I get when I dream anything….cause 9 out of 10 it will happen.
October 1, 2008 at 11:09 am
funny thing is we all seem to want the same things – i know we’re a small percentage of the population but why is it so hard for the government to reflect what most people feel..isn’t representing the people “by the people for the people” supposed to be at the heart of democracy? How can we even say that we’re taking democracy to other countries when we can’t make it work for our own country? Has our government become so selfish and corrupt and filled with “good ole boys (the meaning of which may be changing as its not just white men anymore)” that they’re losing sight of the people due to their own selfish goals, dreams and need to make history by any means necessary …even at the sacrifice of life as we know it….is it all worth it…this whole thing is depressing me more than I’ve been able to express…as I don’t know about anyone else but I’m feeling it……
October 1, 2008 at 11:12 am
That’s uncanny…and I’ve had similar experiences…I think at times we can be tied into our sixth sense and it will come through in dreams…or glimpses…sometimes we just have to pay attention and wait for the connection…I use to have these flashes on my way home a few years back…everytime I’d hit a certain part of the road…I would swear someone was standing in the road and I’d almost hit them…a few weeks after the glimpses started a man got hit crossing that road in the same spot…freaked me out…
October 1, 2008 at 11:12 am
Off topic, you know how in myspace it shows you when other people post pics? Well I’m looking at this local photographer that goes around taking pictures at clubs, why am I tempting to send his page to youknowyoudeadazzwrong.com for more material…all kinds of chaos…I’m said for my city.

HIgher education needs to begin in high school. Focus and direction should be emphasized.
Ok I’m speaking for myself so if anyone has an English degree, I don’t mean to offend, lol:
My intention, after deciding on and canning 2 other options, was to graduate college with an English degree. Now, practically…..there’s not much more I can do with that other than teach, which wasn’t something I ever intended to do. But my mindset was, “oh well, at least it’s a degree and that’s all employers really care about..”
This may be true, but if I’d pursued that degree, was I really contributing much to society? Would I have come away with truly VALUABLE skills if I hadn’t planned on teaching? I wasn’r serious about writing either, so what…exactly….was I going to do with that?
In an ideal world, we’d all know precisely what we wanted to be when we grew up. We don’t, and that’s okay….and I turned my attitude from “learning for the purpose of pbtaining a degree” to “learning for the purpose of learning” to….”.my job (completely unrelated) makes me as much money as I need”.
Where’s my focus? I can’t tell you….but the thing I hope for most regarding my son is that he finds that direction and purpose early. I’m just thinking practically here.
October 1, 2008 at 11:14 am
sad, not said
October 1, 2008 at 11:15 am
I was thinking of the same thing this morning Ki…like damn I guess to run for office it is not necessary to hold a degree from a 4 year university, or graduate harvard law…
Then I thought about what it meant to be stuck in the middle…….which most of us here is.
you have the top the middle and the bottom and its like the middle man pays twice…we pay for stinking ass rich people when they get themselves in shit they can’t get out of…and we pay for the bottom because well welfare is a necessary evil in all forms or some of us wouldn’t eat.
The middle is like the rock stuck in the hard place….its us who get let go first…so yeah we may be top level managers at AYB firm and layoff start.. you go from making 150,000 a year to 1/2 that in unemployment compensation if you get it and when that runs out and you still are not employed well now you got nothing.
Its fucked up to the 100th degree…..poor people will probably survive better than the middle class cause they are use to haveing nothing and scraping by……and most of us here probably will….but those who have no clue what its like to scape yourself up from the bottom is well in a pile of shit….
October 1, 2008 at 11:16 am
I am molding direction and purpose in my children now. I used to have it, lost it along the way. Trying to rediscover it.
October 1, 2008 at 11:19 am
Good Pro…..I have the conversation with my son as often as he can tolerate it. What do you want to do? What interests you? Ok, well if you want to do that, you’ll need to do this……that kinda thing.
It’s been nice and fun for me, to float around without direction, but not especially rewarding. My son will continue to get the “what you do NOW will affect what you do later” sermons.
October 1, 2008 at 11:19 am
ok I BELIEVE IN DREAMS…almost every dream had by any member of my family has been a TRUE sign so we may sound nuts but I don’t care…I feel you…and here’s what I think….examine your life, the situations your children are in – as in who takes them to school, who they stay with, who they’re around…and warn them (not scare them)…but a light educational “safety” warning – don’t talk to strangers, turn off the stove, etc. it’s better to be over-protective than silent and then your worst nightmare comes through….also, check out their friends…yes, this could have been triggered by a short news clip or something that you don’t even realize affected you – I for one, can’t hear about too many killings, kidnappings or rapes ( I’ve been running in the house after dark in fear of two rapists lurking for months lol)…or it could be an incident that made you a little leary and has you shook more than you realize….don’t get paranoid, pray and be alert ….just talk to the children too and make sure they know to tell you EVERYTHING …at least this way they’ll tell you most things if not everything …i know you’ve probably done all of this already but it never hurts to do it again…and don’t be afraid that something bad will happen don’t give it energy…you are safe, your children are and will continue to be safe ….it will all be fine…doesn’t hurt to double check all your windows/locks and ensure everything is working…sometimes something is broken and we don’t even realize as we don’t use it often….it pays to be extra cautious…especially when you have a dream – I don’t mess with those things – I try to figure out the message and be pro-active….it’s helped in the past….
One night I dreamt that a bottle broke and the millions of little pieces stuck to my body….and no one could brush them off….i was supposed to go out that friday …it scared me so I wasn’t sure if I was going to go again…then a co-worker came into my office and said “J you’re gonna think I’m crazy but do you believe in dreams?”…I was like “yeah why?”…he proceeded to tell me he dreamed I was killed…I immediately called my sis and cousin sorry peeps I won’t be going….and warned them to be careful…it snowed that night, they went were having fun then BAM gunshots they all had to run to the roof to get out the building as they couldn’t go out the front door and the back door was blocked…IN THE SNOW no coats…then when the cops calmed things down they went in for their coats and one of their coats was gone…they called me at 5am! so I definitely do NOT play with dreams….
October 1, 2008 at 11:21 am
I’m talking to my kids…more intensely with my son now to make sure that they understand your decisions today reflect the tomorrow you will have…and don’t be like momma, 32, and still trying to decide what you want to be when you grow up…I think that the magnet schools we started in our area a few years ago were a good idea…they are some that focus on arts, technology, science, math, etc…to kind of give kids a direction of where to go with their future…now they’ve started offering budgeting courses to familiarize kids with balancing a checkbook…setting a budget…and other personal finance goals…things that should be done at home, but it doesn’t always happen that way…
October 1, 2008 at 11:24 am
we all get lost …don’t start me up on useless degrees and lost direction – though I am grateful and blessed for all the education I receive…I am not meant to do what I’m doing but survival of my child and I comes first – in some ways no matter if you have a child early or when you think you’re ready it can put a glitch in anyone’s plans ….life is all about adjustment and making new goals/dreams…wish it was as easy to accomplish as saying it….
Honestly I know a few hustlers when we were younger that came out with better legit businesses and are more successful than I with all my schooling and we look at each other, discuss it and crack up – cause they just knew I was gonna be the big star of the crew…you never know where anyone is going to end up that’s why you have to be good to everyone…It took me a while to learn that you can be legal but you have to have a little hustle in your career or you won’t get far….can’t just do everything by the book the way you learned…have to add your own sales pitch like twist….
October 1, 2008 at 11:35 am
FB…i agree…get a degree you can actually use once you graduate and if you want to major in English do so but understand exactly where you want to go with it…..or take it a step further and do a masters or a PHD…..there are other opportunities for english majors other than teaching…there is editing for a newspaper…magazine….writing colums….analyzing other people’s writing…..etc etc…..but don’t just major in english and try to perform surgery afterwards..
Ki would a freaked me out too…my problem is i never know what to do with my dreams…..how to fit them in my everyday life….
maybe…her daddy secretly sold her to some cult….and when she’s 18 he will be coming to get her…i kid..i kid
October 1, 2008 at 11:39 am
hilarious kingston….we just think too much even in our sleep lol….

Thanks JinJin…..I feel you on that and dame told me the same thing that maybe I need to go get some prayers…..I don’t know whats wrong with me…really I am so against church…..more against the hypocrisy…..
my daughter has a very calm, sweet personality…. and there have been a situtation with one of her brother friends who fell head over heals for her….he was giving her all his lunch money, buying her all sorts of gifts….and I was a bit leary of it cause I know kids today are crazy…and I felt she understood that he liked her. Well one night he had a sleep over..i had a babysitter cause dame and i was going out…the next day the baby sitter told me to be very careful with that little boy around your daughter….apparently my daughter went up to my room fell asleep and she found him in there just staring at her…she took the little boy down stairs and she said all he kept doing was asking about going up to see her….I told the boys no more sleep over for him that was his first and last……and thank go his parents decide to move on the other side of town cause now we don’t hear from him at all…
I will try not to be paronoid but….i still want to know what it all means…times like this I really miss the knowledge of my grandmother….cause she would have laid it down….
October 1, 2008 at 11:45 am
I want Cuba opened up….End the embargo…anybody see the booties on that island??? WHOOOOOOO…untapped potential….
October 1, 2008 at 11:45 am
like…Jay Z says….hustle hard at whatever you do……cause all of it is really just that a hustle..
October 1, 2008 at 11:46 am
That’s true Jin…we are all definitely blessed with unique ability and potential and we have to learn how to utilize it. Sometimes I wonder if we too often try to fit ourselves into roles (careers, education goals) that really aren’t meant for us. I bet there are doctors out there who shouldn’t be doctors. I bet there are mechanically gifted people who decided to pursue a law degree for the money, instead of becoming engineers for less…..teachers who just wanted summers off, who would have been more valuable to us by becoming writers.
If we are falling behind other countries in education, maybe….it’s because there’s no real push for direction. Perhaps we’re TOO liberal in that sense, I don’t know. I think I’m starting to see it more as a flaw based on my personal experience. Dreams can come true if our energy is applied in the right place, but floundering for years in search of that dream seems like a waste of time. Again, just speaking on what I’ve been through.
October 1, 2008 at 11:47 am
MAce we have enough ASSES in America…..have you seen the news lately…lol
October 1, 2008 at 11:47 am
Awwe hush Macio, for you its undiscovered potential that you’ll never have the chance to “discovery”..lmao
October 1, 2008 at 11:50 am
discover. Damn it.
October 1, 2008 at 11:54 am
my dream is to one day run a profitable business and retire by 55. I don’t want to be employed or working for anyone other than my self at 40 something……I know how to make this a reality but I do not have the finances to see it through. I have made money doing things others said wouldn’t work but I’m like a alcoholic when it comes to running my own show….when I am high and in the moment its great…i am a believer and a winner..then something happens and i lose interest and stop even though it is putting money in my pocket….its like the alcohol wore off now I’m just down….and hung over…
October 1, 2008 at 11:55 am
Pro…aren’t you suppose to be emailing me something?
what happenned?
October 1, 2008 at 11:56 am
I need an escape blog. This current economic, healthcare, environment crisis is my reality. Live it every day, I need a place to run-a-way too. Alas, I’m too ADD to come up with a blog to post. I got so much on my mind, I’m afraid of what will come out and I dont’ want ya’ll to think I’m strange ;-)….yeah right.
October 1, 2008 at 11:57 am
Tell us another joke Pro…
October 1, 2008 at 11:59 am
Oh yeah, I have it just one moment.
October 1, 2008 at 11:59 am
Why don’t you just post something up where we can spew out totally random thoughts as they come up? Just…brain spittle.
October 1, 2008 at 12:00 pm
BRB, gotta make a run with the boss
October 1, 2008 at 12:11 pm
random thought well not really random but my boss who probably makes close to 300000 a year wears the same boots every fall and winter….they are hot but was probably a lot hotter 6 years ago….the she wears a silk blouse with a blazer thats probably silk too and the ugliest washed out khaki pants that she rolls up over her ankles…its like grunge meets….office professional…..can’t she buy some descent clothes…
October 1, 2008 at 12:16 pm
OMG just got back to this Kingston!!! no wonder you’re upset….don’t feel bad…I’m having a little issue with my daughter and a cousin of hers …not staring but teasing leading to taunting and she has to go there after school…long story but the point is it makes me nervous even with adult supervision…it’s always something…the other day the poor girl told me she was up in his room and I almost blew it but it turned out to be nothing but I told her stay by the living room table do your work and I’ll be home asap…its just a long story sick parent, elderly grandma and I think his dad is a bit depressed heck the kid’s depressed cause of his mom’s illness…they love my lil girl like their own though and I can’t affrord anything else…life is so crazy…but I had to be blunt with her and maybe you should be a bit blunt with your daughter too so she doesn’t think he’s just a nice guy – though he might be….ugh…too many issues in this world
October 1, 2008 at 12:17 pm
I’m having a hard time with silk and rolled-up khakis. Is she on safari?
October 1, 2008 at 12:20 pm
and to make things worse her boots are brown…..like a sunburnt bright brown….her silk shirt is a pale earthy green which i must say the blazer accent very well and the khaki are just dingy khaki….
and while i am hating on co workers…a very evident case of ass kissing gone wrong…2 admin assistants been here forever..one got promoted to office manage sometime back and you could write a book on her ….it would be titled why do black folks start power tripping once they are promoted…any who we get a new business manager(cannot stand her) sneaky and i don’t vibe her…befriends the office manager start treating her like she’s gods of the admin assistants…..decide to move her from front desk so now they have to hire someone new. Our director instructed Business Manager and Admin that everyone should be in on the interview why office manager and Business manager decide to interview people without letting the other Admin in on it….now people are crying…cursing and friendships have been destroyed because of ass kissing gone wrong…..
and who’s crying lol…the office manager..cause the other admin told her and the business manager bout themselves…and of course i gave her a high five…cause i cannot stand a ass kisser a brown noser..i can smell them from a mile away…and this people is why on the job you should always remain neutral and treat every one fairly…..cause you never know when your use to be friend who you work along side is going to stab you in the back and when you are going to have to tell that heffa bout her self…..DRAMA IN THE NEPHROLOGY DEPARTMENT YALL….DRAMA
October 1, 2008 at 12:22 pm
kingston…that’s why her tail is rich…she’s not a shopaholic….she probably has a slammin’ house and everything’s paid for …or she has a secret addiction that you don’ t know about …lol…I agree…we need LIGHTER TOPICS….teehe…
Mace you are incorrigible!!!
October 1, 2008 at 12:23 pm

October 1, 2008 at 12:24 pm
JinJin yeah that secret addiction is called alcohol…..gotta love her though she’s a sweet woman…and was probably very pretty back in the day
October 1, 2008 at 12:25 pm
LMAO at safari that sooo sounds like an 80s look …does she “tease” her hair????
October 1, 2008 at 12:27 pm
OMG ALCOHOLICS…picture this…in the mall on line for a snack for my daughter and I smell, consume ALCOHOL..I mean the smell is so strong its giving me the highest contact you can ever get…figure out its the lady (sweating digustingly) behind me….now I’m dying…can’t breathe…trying to move my daughter without her realizing that I’m totally grossed out …meanwhile my mother is like “what is wrong with you”…I don’t know how people can drink so much that it comes out of their pores and scents the entire area….it is truly a disease…and I’m not pushing being sober but that was disgusting!!!
October 1, 2008 at 12:27 pm
and she is tre smart….but really in need of a stylist…she reminds me of a more reserved Ellen..
October 1, 2008 at 12:29 pm

October 1, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Hi alllllllll! Hey Ki whats the link for that Obama photographer?
October 1, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Ki I just read your post on the budgeting….i wish they had schools like that around here…in miami we had magnet schools….and it was awesome…my cousins who lived in the suburbs ended up doing to a magnet school in the hood…because of the curriculum…..
there was story about a high school teacher in cali i think LA it was either on dateline of 20/20 about a teacher who taught the kids how to start businees and make money…on there own…he said when he switch his curriculum to something he thought the kids related to better he was successful as a teacher he was better able to teach and you know what some of those students ended up with businesses…even within their community….our children are not dum but the way the system is set up it really make them stupid in the end…..
October 1, 2008 at 12:37 pm
ah well maybe you should give her a makeover…hmm but if she thinks she looks fine then you’ll risk losing your job …oh well leave her tail alone and share her crazy getups with us….
frig this single mommy ish is stressin’ me out…sorry Pro I’m usually ms. independent but I’m getting tired of being superwoman….superwomen need a shoulder to lean on too….
October 1, 2008 at 12:40 pm

I want to know…how effective email marketing really is. I get so much junk email and I NEVER open it, EVER. Ever.
So, who out there is giving these people a legitimate reason to continue marketing this way? I wanna know. Who’s opening this crap? There’s got to be SOME cost to it, right?
October 1, 2008 at 12:46 pm

October 1, 2008 at 12:50 pm
Random question.. if you could become immortal..live forever, but the deal is, you have to stay your current age, be in your current position, basically just be the same you NOW forever, would you do it, or would you welcome death at some point?
October 1, 2008 at 12:53 pm
where did everyone go…is it lunch time….
October 1, 2008 at 12:53 pm
The McCain campaign is now attacking Gwen Ifill, the journalist who will moderate the VP Debate tomorrow night…she has a new book on race and politics in the age of Obama coming out on election day…the McCain argument…she’s biased and should not be aloud to moderate…Greta Von Look Like a Man from Fox News said in the legal arena this would be a mistrial…will it ever end…
October 1, 2008 at 12:54 pm
How could anyone NOT be a little biased? Are they searching for moderators who don’t intend to vote?
October 1, 2008 at 12:55 pm
FB it’s funny you ask the immortal question…I finished the Twilight series a while back…I’m reading the Sookie Stackhouse series (books that True Blood is based on)now…I’m working from home and I’ve been watching Kindred:The Embraced all day on Sci-Fi…totally unrelated but semi-related to your question….are vampires real?
October 1, 2008 at 12:55 pm
They should have the Russians Palin can see from Alaska moderate….OH BY THE WAY, She cant see nobody from Alaska, CNN went there, all you can see is side of a mountain.
October 1, 2008 at 12:56 pm
I wanna be MUFASA
October 1, 2008 at 12:58 pm
FB….I would welcome death….unlike some people I look forward to growing old and dying…my only concern is god won’t try to be funny and make me live to be 90 with no man by my side…my kids put me in a nursing home and only visit me on holidays or that I will be old and immobile…i cannot imagine being old and not being able to walk, see, hear, or taste food…so if thats the plan for me I hope i am around long enough to see my grandbabies and play with them for a while after that you can do whatever you like…
October 1, 2008 at 12:58 pm
Vampires…..hmm. I think there are some people out there that may actually drink other people’s blood but I don’t think they actually need it. Needing it to survive would put them in a category that we have no proof of yet – some other human-like species but not human.
October 1, 2008 at 12:59 pm
Ya’ll are crazy, what ya’ll sippin today.
October 1, 2008 at 1:02 pm
i don’t want to grow old alone….i want my daughter to be better than me….SCREW THESE DAMN POLITICIANS …let Gwen Ifill moderate and stop being prejudice sons of b(&(&()&* !!! October 1, 2008 at 1:04 pm
I can’t imagine dying. I’m not scared of it, but there’s a part of me that thinks that this life is all I’ll ever know. I wish I were guaranteed an afterlife but so far I’m not 100% sold. I don’t really want to get old but it’s the best option.
October 1, 2008 at 1:04 pm
why did my post erase..I am here to moderate the VP debate between senator biden and dumbass from Russia oh sorry I mean Russia’s neighbor Alaska
October 1, 2008 at 1:08 pm
I’d take getting older…I’m learning to embrace my age…I’m okay with it…I just don’t want to be alone…I don’t want to be mean…I want to be healthy…is that to much to ask…
October 1, 2008 at 1:09 pm

got on the $1 van to the train saw the cute rasta who stopped for me smiling…couldn’t even smile at him the entire ride too busy holding the tears in ….thank God he played the most soothing reggae…so I let it out…and as I was leaving he said “everything’s gonna be alright”…i’m really tired of people’s mistakes affecting me this way but sometimes they just do….ah hell i’m crying at my desk
October 1, 2008 at 1:09 pm

Vampires do exist they are call…hemophiliacs…or something like that……they depend on blood transfusion…..to live…..remember that little boy Ryan…..he was a modern day vampire…
October 1, 2008 at 1:17 pm
yeah he does or I’m gonna find a cheap fare and picket their front lawn in Arkansas make his life a living hell! See his wife isn’t gonna force him to rush and get a job cause she knows how much he owes and he’s the type to just make excuses if you don’t push him…hell I don’t have time for that mess..probably why she can’t stand me…i know him really really well and I know how to push his tail…cause he has no choice but to listen once I start rantin’ and ravin’ – scandalizing his name…I AM NOT AN ENEMY he wants and HE knows it….they did enough crap to me over the years and I am not that chick anymore …try to be nice to people who don’t give a crap about you or your child…mess with her or my ability to provide you mess with me and an angry Jin is not anything you want to F with…ok I’m done…I think….thanks for listenin’ …it must be baby momma/daddy drama wk…JH you started this lol

October 1, 2008 at 1:20 pm
Yeah, I guess I want to die someday, after really thinking about immortality. I don’t want to outlive everybody. Plus I’d probably suffer of relentless boredom.
I think we need to go a step further with the vampire definition, lol. Vampires achieve immortality, don’t they? Or do they just live for a really long time? And, they can only die in particular ways, right?
Ki, your vampire expertise is needed.
October 1, 2008 at 1:24 pm
hush JinJin…..a so dem stay….i’ve had many of those days…….just know in the end your daughter will cherish you even more cause then she will understand what you went through and why you endured…
October 1, 2008 at 1:25 pm
but they drink blood? do you really want to drink everyone’s blood …isn’t that sort of sadistic?
What little boy Ryan – “modern day vampire” …REALLY>?
October 1, 2008 at 1:29 pm
if a man eats punnaanie while on your menses…that would make him a nasty ass vampire…lol
October 1, 2008 at 1:31 pm
oohwee now I’ve had sex during it but eating is just naaassssteeeee haha on the vampire tip though…you are a sick cookie…guess we all are in our own ways….
October 1, 2008 at 1:31 pm

One…..Two…..Three……Three round cookies!!! ah ha ha ha ha!
I also used to love the people spitting out the words on The Electric Company
el….bow….elbow

Ah,f un with syllables
October 1, 2008 at 1:33 pm
jinjin its a joke Ryan was a hemophiliac…or something like that…look up hemophilia…..they need blood to survive
October 1, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Yep according to the myths, they live forever, frozen at the age they became a vampire…
October 1, 2008 at 1:36 pm
im going home…will read once im there…..work is total bore and i wasn’t really suppose to be here…later
October 1, 2008 at 1:36 pm
And the one two three FOUR FIVE six seven eight NINE ten eleven twelve – thing.
That sh*t was hypnotic.
October 1, 2008 at 1:37 pm
32 feels like it’s going to be great…I like even years better
October 1, 2008 at 1:38 pm
What are the downfalls of becoming a vampire? I may want to look into it. Does it have to be blood they suck or can it be something else? lol
October 1, 2008 at 1:39 pm
32 is perfect. I would go back just to be that age. I wasn’t even doing much differently (other than the married piece) but I was me on fire.
October 1, 2008 at 1:40 pm
I’m doing nothing at work, in case you can’t tell.
October 1, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Like if it was chocolate…I’d totally do it…there are other bodily fluids I’ve ingested…but I digress
October 1, 2008 at 1:44 pm
I’m really 43
October 1, 2008 at 1:45 pm
I’d venture to say you’re 83 at times…with all that infinite knowledge you display at times
October 1, 2008 at 1:47 pm
There’s gotta be SOME sacrifice for immortality…chocolate is a gift
October 1, 2008 at 1:47 pm
I think death is an illusion….People fear it, aned rightfully so because it’s the unknown…I think babiies about to be born are horrified at the prospect of leaving the womb..they have no concept of the outside world, and I imagine they are deathly afraid during the process…only to discover that they have entered a bigger, more colorful and stimiulating world beyond their wildest imagination.. That’s how I view so called death….I think we will acquire senses beyond taste touch smell sight and hearing….It’s gonna be a blast!
October 1, 2008 at 1:48 pm
Damn. I forgot youk new me in ’87!
October 1, 2008 at 1:49 pm
If Heaven exists, do all of our sinful tendencies disappear?
October 1, 2008 at 1:50 pm
FB is totally random today
October 1, 2008 at 1:52 pm
If I COULD become immortal, I also want the ability to fly added in to sweeten the deal. So I could check things out.
October 1, 2008 at 1:57 pm
“Sin” is relative…I think there are a few things you shouldn’t do…steal, kill, and lie….they feel wrong without you having being told they are “sins” (I have NO first hand knowledge of what it feels like to kill anyone)…I think a lot of those other rules are just religious dogma….
October 1, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Sin is relative and I think some behaviors that people view as negative they’ve injected God’s name into the argument where it’s just personal disagreement…
October 1, 2008 at 1:59 pm
If it feels good, it MUST be BAD…BS
October 1, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Yeah, I don’t have much to think about at the moment. Y’all are being used by me….the place where the randomness ends up. Sorry i think…
October 1, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Some things that feel good should be bad but they aren’t…ohhhhhhhhhhh….it’s time….
October 1, 2008 at 2:01 pm
Don’t apologize if you don’t mean it…I’ll be a pawn in your game for a moment…
October 1, 2008 at 2:02 pm
Next time someone tries to tell me my actions were wrong I’m going to say “Wrong is relative”.
Yyyeah, I like it…..
October 1, 2008 at 2:04 pm
There’s no game….just here in front of a computer
lol, last night my friend told me he thought he’d gotten his hand pregnant
October 1, 2008 at 2:07 pm
Ha…Ha….Ha…That’s funny…
And what did you do to aid in that conception…
I have this fear that recent text messages will come back and haunt me like they did Kwame Kilpatrick
October 1, 2008 at 2:12 pm
Nah, I didn’t help him out….he was just speaking generally about his internet porn addiction. I thought the statement was funny though.
lol…..getting hot & heavy via the cell hmm? Been there! lol
October 1, 2008 at 2:15 pm
It was so unexpected…he actually diverted my attention during football…which was pretty amazing…
October 1, 2008 at 2:22 pm
That’s the magic of text messaging…..totally allows you to multi-task.
October 1, 2008 at 2:24 pm
Oh well it’s still a cruel joke…he’s too far away and unable to capitilize on the moment without extensive planning…
October 1, 2008 at 2:30 pm
Nothing is impossible! I’ve racked up some heavy mileage for semi-cheap thrills 😉
October 1, 2008 at 2:32 pm
And I’d do it again in a New York minute if I knew it was worth it
October 1, 2008 at 2:37 pm
yes Sesame Street was the best….long for those days…now its cartoons galore, tweenie bopper shows like Hannah too grown Montana lol…and video games…what happened to RED LIGHT GREEN LIGHT 1 2 3 ! Funny thing is my nieces, nephews and daughter tried to play that one bbq this summer and we had to get up and show them how its done…hilarious
October 1, 2008 at 2:38 pm
oh and kingston just saw your hush comment lol…thx;) i’m actually going to buy myself flowers this afternoon and go home take a warm bath and not do one darn thing that’s constructive…my mind needs a break…
October 1, 2008 at 2:43 pm
wait – someone got MS. Ki’s attention away from football…think that may be the text of the year! lol
October 1, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Me and my friends played drunk red light green light a coupla summers ago. It was fun as hell.
October 1, 2008 at 2:45 pm
ok since we’re doing random thoughts…i have a mosquito bite on my little toe and its killin’ me lol
who’s here……helllloooooooooooo
October 1, 2008 at 2:47 pm
did you read my random thoughts of the day blog Jin?
October 1, 2008 at 2:50 pm
aw hell lemme go take a look can use a laugh or two
October 1, 2008 at 4:54 pm
I’m against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.
To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.
My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free.
So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%.
Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.
That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.
But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.
A husband and wife has $595,000.00.
What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college – it’ll be there
Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car – create jobs
Invest in the market – capital drives growth
Pay for your parent’s medical insurance – health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or else
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And, of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.
If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’s really do it…instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( “vote buy” ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.
If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!
As for AIG – liquidate it.
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here’s my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn’t.
Sure it’s a crazy idea that can “never work.”
But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!
How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion
We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC .
And remember, The Krieg plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.
Ahhh…I feel so much better getting that off my chest.
PS: Feel free to pass this along to your pals as it’s either good for a laugh (or a tear) or a very sobering thought on how to best use $85 Billion!!
