So I was eating my ham and cheese hot pocket when Ms. Cayenne Pepa sent me a Huffington Post link…
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/21/exotic-dancer-stabbed-wit_n_189626.html
A 52 year old stripper stabbed by a rival with a stiletto. So many questions come to mind when you read this story. Who would pay to see a 52 year old stripper. I know the economy is bad but can a 52 year old find something else to do besides strip. This is not an Angela Bassett 52 year old woman either. Ms. Lady looks 62.
I had already planned to do a post sometime this week, I’ve got mad randomness floating threw my head and nowhere to share or vent. I don’t have time to pay co-pays to go talk to somebody, especially most of the therapists I know are crazy for real. Have you ever watched In Treatment on HBO. So I’m back for free therapy, fun discussion, and even a few heated arguments.
I’ve missed my friends on Ya Dig. I’ve missed the vibe as a whole. Maybe it’s gone. Maybe it won’t come back, but I refuse to be a quitter. I refuse to walk from another situation like the same problem won’t follow me. So I’m back, I might be typing to myself. If you’re reading, join in.
Today’s big random conversation for me…Reality and/or Reality TV
I’m still tripping off of the 52 year old stripper, but I’m also very confused by all the hoopla surrounding Susan Boyle (I think that’s her name) from Britain’s Got Talent. Will she get a makeover? Will she change her hair? Everyone was wowed. Like being less than attractive was the only possible gift the woman could be blessed with. Seriously where do individuals get their reasoning skills.
I want to admit that I am a VH1 reality show addict. Yes I tuned in for the Ray J finale. Yes I watch Tough Love. Yes I watch I Love Money 2. Fact of the matter, the shows make me feel normal and highly intelligent. Plus I think I have a crush on the host from I Love Money and the matchmaker from Tough Love (it’s the accent). That’s it for now. Totally random. I’m going to finish my hot pocket…

I’ve missed the crew too, yadig as a whole. I have no outlet anymore, lol. Too many work associates on FB, and they don’t need to know “me” like that. Lol.
Yeah, that 52 year old woman getting the beatdown on her first day as an “exotic dancer” threw me for a loop.
I’m like, damn have times gotten that bad?! I had been reading about how more women you wouldn’t expect have been applying for jobs as bartenders, waitstaff, and yes even as exotic dancers at these clubs. Some even going as far as to do porn. Lord, knows I hope I never have to utilize this as a means to keep a roof over my head and food on my table. But, with people losing jobs, homes..left and right it makes you wonder, how far would you go to not lose everything?
I’m a Vh1 junkie as well, I too have a lil crush on both of the hosts that you listed above, those smiles and dimples. Man!
Everytime I look at Ray J, I think he is a vampire and trying to “glamour” those girls to do what he wants. (I know, reading to many Sookie Stackhouse books). But seriously, his game is corney as hell, yet…I dunno..I might fall for it for a day…
April 22, 2009 at 11:38 am
Did you just say glamour…oh no…you have to watch the show when it comes out on DVD. Just to hear the guy who plays Bill call Sookie’s name…it’s like SoOOOEEWWWWWWEEEKe…
I didn’t get it with Ray J. It was about money and he wasn’t there for love, because if that was the case he would have told all those chicks to pack up and go home. I was rooting for Unique…I know she was manipulative and school marmish…I could be described the same way…but behind closed doors…
It is the dimples and the smile with those two hosts. Or maybe I need a life. I’ve moved from the Sookie Stackhouse series to the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series…and I want the smut of supernatural hookups back…although the banter and discussion in the new series I’m reading is light hearted and refreshing.

Yup, I do have to watch the true blood dvd’s. I don’t even want to start watching it, I want to start from the beginning.
I was rooting for the car-azy one. Danger. She was nuts, but she was real. All those other girls was fronting. There is no way I’m going to be “dating” a dude and spend my whole time with him talking about the next chick. I didn’t like Unique, but I liked her family.
April 22, 2009 at 11:44 am
Her momma did exactly what my mom would do. I think she was fronting. I think behind the scenes, real Unique was probably just as hood as the next girl. She was trying to look good on tv so momma wouldn’t beat her behind when she got back home. Can’t wait for the reunion, I’m sure it’s gonna be drama packed.
April 22, 2009 at 11:47 am
Man!!! I sure cannot wait for the reunion. I’m most excited to see, what was the white girls name “So Hood” and Danger…lmao
April 22, 2009 at 11:48 am
I tried to find a good one where he says her name…once you start watching you are hooked
April 22, 2009 at 11:50 am
Oh she was crazy too.
April 22, 2009 at 11:54 am
Two more and I’m done…I can’t wait for the DVD

April 22, 2009 at 12:10 pm
I’m sorry. It helped. I started reading the first book when the series came out and I think he’s the perfect Eric.
April 22, 2009 at 12:48 pm

April 22, 2009 at 1:41 pm

Everybody should be encouraged to pursue their own path…It’s a pretty safe bet that kids who aren’t interested in College wouldn’t do very well anyway…Now skipping his senior year? Pretty impatient, but if he is of age??? Oh well…He can always go back if things don’t work out with basketball…Living overseas can be an educational experience in and of itself…I didn’t want to go college straight out of high school, but I did anyway…Had fun, but I wasted time in terms of “studies”…All you can do with children is teach them, love them, guide them, so that when they’re old enough to choose their own path, they do so with a certain level of confidence, and knowledge of the risks and consequences…
